This association was set up for two reasons:
to promote social dance and competitive dance in Alberta;
and to help raise money
for competitive country and swing dancers to help them financially in
costs directly associated with competing.
The average Competitive Dancer spends around $15,000 per year on
costumes, coaching/training fees, transportation, floor fees, hotel rooms, etc.
This organization does not expect that it can fully fund all of its dancers but
through donations and events we expect that we can help to ease the financial
burden that they undertake and keep the art of dancing alive and well in Alberta.
